Change in wasting habits

Hey!

So, for a few weeks now, my 19 month old has been very fussy with his food. Before he would pretty much finish every meal and have snacks in between. He had his favourite foods, such as Sunday roast, pizza and pasta. Now he only really manages to eat all of his breakfast and the other 2 he barely touches. Some days are better than others. He's totally off his favourite food. He only had a nibble on a slice of pizza the other day. Some days he won't even bother to pick up the spoon! He'll happily have a yoghurt or his fruit pouches.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same. My friend has a three year old and she said he did exactly the same and it was a long phase. Just wanted a bit more reassurance.

Mod you offer these alternatives if he refuses what you've already offered him?

Sorry for the typos. That should have said "Do you".

Sorry, do you mean do I give these to him if he doesn't have anything else. After offerings him something else, yes. I'll give him these as I don't want him to go to sleep on an empty stomach x

Ah that's what's going on then. Just offer food and if he doesn't eat it clear away and do something else. Children won't eat if they know their favourite will magically appear if they refuse the first course Smile

But I have to make him eat them. I'll put some on his lips, which he won't open when the spoon comes, and then he realises what it is

Is there a reason that you're still spoon feeding him @robin441?

@SleafordSods

Is there a reason that you're still spoon feeding him *@robin441*?
I'm not.

If he won't do it himself I will feed him to get him to realise what it is, then he'll feed himself after
