If anyone could give me some advice on this I would be so so grateful.

My ds is 5 and full time at school, but everyday his pants are soiled, it's not the whole lot sorry for tmi but it's enough to smell.

I have tried everything I can think of to stop this and I'm ashamed to say sometimes I have got quite angry with him

It's not normal though is it is there anything physical which could be causing this? He sometimes says he can't feel it before it starts to come out but I don;t know if thats just because he's too busy playing etc?

I really really am getting desperate now

Thanks for reading xxxx

Yes, it could be something physical - say if he was very constipated that can cause a bit of erm overflow. I would definitely speak to GP to check things out.

Get him down to teh GP....it's possible that it's constipation which can cause an "overflow"...

My , also, 5 year old ms is on Movicol and like your son he says he often can't feel it coming out.
Indeed, I took him back to GP's today, because he's been on Movicol for a year and we are still having problems
It's very frustrating, isn't it....like you, I have become angry at times....

Yes it could be constipation. The hard stuff blocks the exit and the runny stuff sort of seeps out around it (probably not the best way to word it at tea-time!).

Oh my goodness thank you all so much!

I hadn't even thought of that but it makes sense, I will take him to the doctors on monday.

I really really can't tell you what a relief it is that there 'could' be a treatable cause for it, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted. I know it sounds silly but it was starting to get me down so much

Thank you all again, so much xxxx
