I had a leapfrog learn and groove and it saved my sanity on a number of occasions. It was OK until they could walk.

I used it for DS1 and DS2 and have passed it on to my neice for her baby.

So all in all I found them great and would really recomend, although they do take up a lot of space

another vote for the leapfrog. I have twins and it was brilliant for keeping them entertained, one would sit in it and the other would sort of cruise round the outside! they could easily spend a couple of hours a day in there, it had much more playvalue than things like door bouncers or walkders.

yes definitely, my DDs were always happier when they were upright at that age, and also it keeps them confined!

worth trying to get a second hand one or borrow one, as the minute they are finished with it you will want shot of it (unless you live in a mansion )

Agree with idea of only buying second hand as they don't last long.
Also be wary of putting them in it for longer periods - I was just looking at some research that suggests babies need to spend a lot of time on the floor to practice sitting and crawling etc.
Bouncers and the like also aren't ideal as they promote a position that babies might not be ready for physically.

We used one with ds2 and it was fab, kept him out of harms way and amused for about 30 minutes at a time.

Bought it second hand off ebay and am saving it for my SILs when one of them next has a baby. It was well worth the money and if I get hard up I could re-sell it very quickly via ebay and recoup almost the whole cost.

Downside was that it does take up a lot of room.

We had a mothercare own activity station. Baby can make it turn to face other actiivities. Ds loved it and used it until he was too tall for it (even used to climb in himself after he could walk). I wouldn't get a jumping one personally as it's a nice thing for them to just stand and chill out in rather than bounce around. Was really good for when I needed to go to the loo etc as he was an early crawler

learn and groove all the way!!!!!
it's a work o' genius, and no mistake
now ds has the learnaround playground - the next step up from the L&G.
go for it.

tassisssss · 05/12/2007 22:05

They are excellent. Ours was a hand on, must be about 8 years old so very very basic. Done at least 7 babies in that time. Ds was in it until about a year, dd was out of it by 9 months.

Def worth getting!

(and do consider a door bouncer too!)
