Silent reflux?

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone has actually been through this before. Get ready as this is going to be a long one…
Since my daughter was born (now nearly seven months old)
She started off as a new born continually grunting, arching back and crying after feeds. Basically, she would always be uncomfortable and unsettled.
I contacted the doctors when she was a couple of weeks old as I am a first time mum and didn’t have a clue as to what to do.
They prescribed gaviscon sachets for her, I have never tried more than four as this makes her constipated. They then prescribed omeprazole which they’ve gradually increased - still unsettled to the point where she started to refuse her milk. She now never ever drinks milk in my lap I have to distract her with something in order for her to drink and even then I struggle to feed her.
I explained all of this to the paediatrician and they said it could a cows milk allergy.
They prescribed new milk for her and her symptoms were still there.
I just don’t know what to do anymore oh and I forgot to mention that her milk has been changed four times.
I’ve tried Kendamil, aptamil, cow & gate and SMA.
Has anyone been through something similar did something else help? She wakes up every hour at night and cries she’s going to be seven months soon I just don’t know what else to try I’m running out of options.
Thank you

So sorry you're going through this.

What milk did the Paediatrician prescribe abs was there any improvement, even if it was for a short time?

Has she been referred to the Allergy Clinic and had an urgent referral to a Paediatric Dietician. These are the referrals your GP should be making if CMPA is suspected according to the Nice guidelines.

Which milk is she on now?

Hi, thank you for your response.
So she was prescribed aptamil pepti 1 by the paediatrician and has been seen by the paediatrician on two occasions.
They trialled the milk for four weeks when she was four months. The paediatrician then saw her again and asked me to slowly switch back to her normal milk as she will be starting solids soon at the time.
She's now on Aptamil the normal one.
I have spoken to the gp and health visitors on many occasions too.
I just don't know what's normal and what isn't at this point to be honest with you.
She still gets uncomfortable after feeds she's on 5ml of omeprazole at the moment and infant Gaviscon.
I thought by now she would have settled but that's clearly not the case.
When the paediatrician saw her should he not have thought to maybe get her tested for allergies? He kept saying she's very alert and thriving, that's all they keep saying but she shouldn't be getting uncomfortable like this.
She also does sick sometimes and struggles to get it out and won't stop gagging.

I doubt the Paediatrician did any allergy testing if I'm honest, it's just usually trial and error.

I'd have a read of this from Allergy UK. Do any of the symptoms sound like what's going on?

My son who is now 15 months was exactly the same. He was always fed in his sleep as he completely refused the bottle if awake. Eventually at 8 months he stopped all together but luckily was weaned so since then i am constantly feeding him. He still does not drink milk only in his morning porridge but i try to make sure he eats as much as possible during the day so he can get through the night. I thought he may have some sort of allergy but he is fine with yogurts, cheese and all sorts of other dairy he just didn't like milk. At the time he stopped everyone was telling me he needed milk but its hard when they just dont want it no matter what you try so i just did what i felt wws right. Its been a long journey but he is completely healthy and happy. Smile
