Looking underneath the toy - ASD?

Is this always a sign of ASD or can typically developing children do this?

My 4 yo DS is autistic. Have some suspicions that my 8.5 yo DD is too.

DS always used to examine the underneath of his toys, just spotted DD doing it for the first time. Made me wonder if it was a definite sign or if all kids have a nosy?

My little boy does this all the time and I’m fairly certain he’s not got ASD, from what I can gather it’s not so much the action that is seen as an ‘issue’ but the repetitiveness of the action. For example a friends little girl with ASD is obsessed with spinning wheels, if a toy has wheels in anyway she’ll tip it over so she can spin the wheels for ages, she doesn’t play with the toy in any other way. My little boy spins wheels of toys occasionally but he also plays with toys in the way they were ‘intended’ (e.g. he’ll also get in his toy car and move around in it whereas she wouldn’t). I hope that makes sense, all kids a very nosey!
