16 month old daughter dropped all naps

Hi. Looking for some advice. My almost (tomorrow!) 16 month old daughter has decided to drop her morning nap and is also very reluctant to sleep in the afternoon. She sleeps through the night for around 12 hours (has done since 10 weeks) but obviously we would prefer that she had a sleep during the day. Is this just a phase and will she decide she wants to have her after lunch nap again or is this now it?!? The range of activities open to us at the moment because of her age is fairly limited so any advice would be gratefully received.

no advice sorry but dd2 (now 2) dropped all her naps by 18 months. She tends to nap in the car if we go out or sometimes in the buggy - if she is really exhausted in the afternoon we tend to go out for a walk with her in the buggy and she dozes for half an hour or so. She sleeps a good 12 hours at night though and is generally a happy soul - it works for her.

She is a very happy little girl and as I say sleeps fine at night. She does still fall asleep sometimes in the buggy when I've been in town so maybe thats the answer - go out every day so she gets at least 20 minutes sleep! I had hoped she would continue with the naps till at least 18 months but shes so active and alert that I guess I was just kidding myself. The housework will just have to wait! Thanks.

I know, its a pain. They are too young to watch a video properly at this age too! Start training her to watch disney princess vids, then you can have a bit of peace back!

give her a duster my dd use dto help if she did not sleep with whatever i had planned to do in her nap time (obviously make sure dd is safe)

Good idea - she adores the hoover (thinks its hilarious) but would probably try and wear the duster at the moment. Every piece of clothing has to be worn as a cape........superwoman style. However, I think I am going to stop stressing about it as shes probably picking up on me worrying. As she gets older she'll be able to get involved with more (although not through lack of her trying at the moment, anyway! She wants to do EVERYTHING we're doing, whether its safe or not) and I'll just have to join more groups and get her involved with more things. The local playgroup takes children from 2 but we don't want her to go till shes 3 but at least thats another avenue in a year and a halfs time.

Ds will only sleep if he taken out in the buggy or if I lie on the bed with him. He's been like this since he was about your dd's age. Luckily dd goes to nursery at 1 pm so he falls asleep on the way home for a bit.
