this past week, she sits herself up as i leave the room at bed or nap time and if i go back in later, she will have fallen asleep like that, clutching her toy and bent over forwards. sometimes she falls sideways which is quite funny.
but really, can she be getting a decent nights sleep like that?
i can sometimes lie her down asleep but if she wakes up she sits herself up again and won't lie down.
i dont' know if i should force her to lie down to sleep. she'll get really cross and it will take forever.
any thoughts?
thanks

Ah,bless!!If she is sleeping I wouldn't worry!!

FWIW dd often falls asleep like this(she has SN though, and sometimes I don't know if she realises her top half is upright and her bottom half not iykwim)I creep in an hour after she is in a deep sleep and gently place her in a horizontal position.HTH

I think DS does this as well, and has done since he was about a year old. I often find him asleep in a half kneeling position after he's keeled over, frequently still clutching a book or such like. So cute. I tend to leave him as he normally rouses himself at some point and gets more comfortable.
