when do they go from outy to inny?

I have an outy and have always disliked it - DD is 11m and also has an outy - when do they pop in as it were?

xx

dd1 has a small hernia so hers is a definite outy - she's 2.5. If its not in by the time she's 4 they'll do a small op. dd2 15 months is neither in nor out it's just there IYSWIM! As for me I had an outy until the children and compulsive eating happened, now its hidden from view

My ds had what looked like an outy at birth. At 14 months, it is so clearly an inny (he can keep a pearl in there).

My dd also had the same outy-ish look (and I remember asking the health visitor the same question you did, eyeliner). At 4, it is a shallow inny. In fact, it stayed very much the same.

I never thought about this until now!!

Ooh I didn't know it was genetic - I had an outy (operated on as a baby) and both my girls have outys too (though less so - dd2's is worse), my niece also has an outy.

Dd has an outy - I think because her cord stub was pulled off too early by the trainee midwife - whereas mine is most definately an inny!!
