SHAKEY ARMS?

6 replies

EssJayyCee · 23/07/2021 17:16

My almost 6 month old has shaky arms sometimes.

For example, she just woke up from a nap and her arms were relatively stiff infront of her and they were shaking/vibrating movement.

Does anyone else baby do this?
Is it normal or should I be concerned?

DS2 has always been a bit trembly after a nap. He is under neurology for other reasons but it's always been put down to an immature nervous system. He's got a lot better in the last two months (he's 8 month now). Could always raise with GP just in case?

@Foreverbaffled Thanks for your reply.
It's not always after a nap, sometimes when she is sat normally when she gets agitated about being bored or something they shake too.

Why is your DS under neurology? (If you don't mind me asking?)

My DS tenses his arms and shakes them too when he’s over tired and over stimulated. It’s totally intentional though when he does that and he laughs when he does it. The trembly arms after a nap was more involuntary. I raised both with the Consultant Neuro and she said perfectly normal baby movements and the trembling was due to an immature nervous system (his chin used to quiver too!)

DS2 is under neuro as he was born with sustained ankle clonus and some intermittent high tone in his legs, both of which have resolved on their own 🙂

@EssJayyCee thank you! My LO is 5 months, and does when excited or frustrated. How is your LO now? X
