Help: 15 month old won’t stop pulling my hair

Any help or advice much appreciated.

I have a lot of curly, red hair. When it’s looking nice, I’ve got lovely corkscrew shoulder-length curls. When it needs a wash, it’s like that but with extra frizz. Babies love it, I must look like I’m on fire Smile

Recently, my 15-month-old has taken to pulling it really hard. I’ve tried firm ‘no’, I’ve tried grabbing his hand, I’ve tried logical and rational explanations of why it hurts. And It really hurts!!

I don’t want to cut it short for two reasons: 1) it’s part of my identity, I’ve always had it and I love it. I’ve lost so much of myself since DS was born, I can’t lose this. And 2) because the frizz would make me look like Gwendoline off Wallace and Gromit.

Any tips or advice?

Does he do it even if you've tied it back?

Tell him no very firmly and put him down each and every time he does it. You can’t really do explanation to a fifteen month old.

Tie your hair up.

It’s a phase, don’t cut your hair. He’ll probably stop doing it in a few weeks!

Thanks all. I tie it back but I have a few tendrils hanging down at the front.

I’ll try putting him down and see how we go

My 14 month old has taken a liking to my hair recently (even though I tie it up!). Whenever I would say no firmly she’d just laugh and do it again cause she doesn’t understand - I figured saying no was just giving her attention so now I just ignore her and put her down. She seems to have gotten the idea cause she hasn’t done it for a few days.

Like PP, every time he pulls your hair, say a stern "no" and put him on the ground.
