Think ds is going to be left handed, he always swaps his crayon or pencil over to his left.

A couple of questions...

HOw should I teach him to hold a pen? the usual right handed way doesn't look right and it also doesn't look right if he holds it in a fist.

Is there any such thing as a pair of left handed toddler (plastic) scissors?

Anything else I should look out for?

Thanks Niecie - I did mean her grip, rather than her hand. They are all aware of it at her pre-school, but none of the teachers there have mentioned about re-training her grip. I think it would really knock her confidence though, if she started school and they suddenly started to try and get her to write and draw differently when she has been holding her pen like this for over a year now.

i have left handed scissors for ds (and me! They're fab!) and a left handed pencil sharpener, believe it or not. As a leftie it amazes me how great these left handed things are; when I was at school these things just didn't exist. I do buy whatever I can leftie for ds as he has co-ordination difficulties as well as being left handed so I think he needs all the help he can get.

I think definitely get left handed scissors as a minimum, they make it so much easier - you can actually SEE the line you're supposed to be cutting!
