My little boy is 2 and a half and I can't get him to eat a varied balanced diet! All he ever wants is bread. I feel like I've caused this issue by previously just giving in. I'm trying really hard not to but he just says no to everything! This morning I've tried a smoothie, porridge and an omelette. All of which he's eaten before but now won't even try, I'm finding this really stressful and don't know the best way around it! Please help 😫

Hi I’m afraid I can’t really help as I’m also going through feeding difficulties with my 2 yr old. He will eat but wants “picky” foods or snack type things. He is refusing pasta, chilli, sweet potato...all the usual things he used to enjoy. I had his 2 yr check today which was no help and I feel totally disheartened.

I feel like it's the most stressful thing in the world!!! This whole day he's only had 2 bites of chicken and 1 bit of garlic bread. That's it!! Since 6am!

Oh my word!! Mine has done better than that but he went into bed after his tea of half a satsuma and a breadstick, refusing the pasta that accompanied that!!
It is stressful!! I try and always put something on his plate he will eat but even that changes! I used to make new stuff all the time for him now I don’t see the point as I can’t handle the rejection!

My 2.5 yr old is the same she used to eat everything and now always says she doesn’t like something even if she used to eat it. I think she’s doing it for control rather than actually disliking it as she is still eating everything they serve her at nursery. I’ve decided not to give into it and simply prepare what I’ve planned for each meal and give her a choice between 2 vegetables or pasta or rice for example. I then put it in front of her, no fuss and no negotiation and if she says that she doesn’t want it I say that’s fine, but there isn’t anything else. I always make sure that there is something on her plate that she will eat so she doesn’t go hungry but I have found that she has been a lot better the less attention surrounding the meal and also of me and my husband eat the same as her at the same time
