My twins are 16 weeks old and are both displaying teething signs ... chewing on hands frantically, red cheeks, dribbling - they've only just started sleeping through PLEASE tell me it's not possible they're going to be waking again with sore gums?!??!?!

TIA

From birth as far as I can work out. Ds cut his first at 12 weeks and I got a shock as there'd been no sign. The next one came in over the following fortnight though and was a right pita.

Fingers x for you it's not!

some babies are born with teeth - ouch if you're bf- so i suppose it can be any age. Sorry!

Hate to break this to you but....

dd1 teethed from about 3 weeks old!!! and got first teeth at four months!

dd2 teethed from about 5 or 6 weeks and at 6 and a half months still no sign! She dribbles and bites her hands all day every day!!
However
Neither child has suffered overly much at night, yes they did/do sometimes wake up but a quick rub with bonjela and a suck on a dummy usually worked for me.
Your twins might get teeth early or they might have good days and bad days for a few months yet- just try all the teething remedies you can and see what works best
Good luck!

Oh No!!!!! I feel tired just thinking about it!

But if they are early starters, they might be early finishers too, right?

DD was 6 months then two front teeth came in at once.

Sounds like teething to me! My DD cut her first tooth at about 5 months and they all came through in quick succession after that. Look on the bright side - the earlier they start, the sooner they finish! My DD had all her baby teeth through a few months before other kids her age.

Well, ds has just got his first molar at 12 months and I can feel another one about through (not sure when they normally come through though).

We've had a nice long gap since the front 8 and I would say he's not suffered too much in the process but I dare say that's not related to age. It's so pointless for them to get teeth so early though, poor wee things.

Both of mine got their 1st teeth at 16 weeks. Bottom front 2 came through at once. DS got all of them through by the time he was one without any bother - never woke at night. DD has just got her last teeth through a month or so ago at 13 months, she suffered with hers but not too much at night so I do think that the earlier they start the earlier they finish.

From birth and before. Boy cut his 1st and 2nd teeth at about 18 wks, he had been "teething" from about 10/12 wks.
The waking thing. just enjoy ever night that they do sleep through, it won't last for ever for any number of reasons.
Not sure about the early finishers thing think its luck of teh draw. boy had 16 theeth by 14 months, still has 16 at 20m/o

Yes dd1 had all her teeth by about 18 months! and they werent all problematic. My friend has twins and they both teethed and got 2 teeth at roughly the same time( 10/11 months but with nowt but a few restless nights!!! Like literally 2 or 3- I am so jealous!
I honestly believe I am gonna wake up one morning and see dd2 with a full set!! She can fit two hands in her mouth at once and just gnashes away but there is nothing poking through the gum yet. I think I will crack open the champagne when they arrive- Any excuse
