Introducing a new baby

My DD2 is 1 week old today and my DD1 is 3. So far I think the introduction of her little sister has gone well. She wants to cuddle her a lot and is always saying how she loves her which makes me feel so relieved. Saying this I can also see her get quite jealous when I am feeding DD2 and she's also become quite intense with constant questions (even after I've answered them) almost as if she is just saying anything to keep the attention on her and she's been a lot cheekier and more tearful than usual. I know this is all perfectly normal behaviour and I do feel lucky that she hasn't really regressed like some older siblings do. But I am wondering how long it is likely to take her before she feels secure again? I'm worried that my OH goes back to work and it's just me I will struggle to give her the amount of attention she is getting atm. How long did it take your LOs to adjust to a new sibling?

My eldest was much like yours but it didn't go much further than that to be honest. she gradually calmed down a bit and we didn't really have any issues after the initial bit you've described.

My DS is just over 14 weeks and we had the same reaction to him from DD2.5 as you’ve described but in the couple of weeks or so she has been super clingy to me and a bit whiny at nursery drop off which is unusual. But I’ve tried to give her mummy and daughter time at bedtime and special trips to the shops/park/baby gym etc and she is being a bit better. Still absolutely loves her brother though so not sure if the clingy was is just a coincidence
