Please help! Nearly 5 constant toilet accidents

I’m at the end of my tether I could scream or cry. Will probably do both 😩 my nearly 5 year old DD hardly had any toilet accidents until they went back in March. Since they’ve started back in March she’s had 4 accidents at school and almost everyday at pick up we need to sprint the last few mins home because she’s desperate. It’s 50/50 whether we make it on time. I’m honestly at a loss and don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve tried everything, telling her she needs to go as soon as she gets the feeling, gentle taking/reassurance/ your not in trouble type thing, being disappointed and I’ve also lost it and shouted. I spoke to her teacher just this morning and they said they take her as soon as they notice her doing the ‘wiggle’ but again today 2 mins to home and she’s wet herself! I’m nearly 8m pregnant so it’s not like we can run all the way home but equally feel terrible when she’s trying to hold it in so close to home and we don’t make it. I told her no dress up today if she did wet herself so she’s currently having a paddy which I’m trying to ignore. Please, please help!

I'm having the same issues. Although it's not a recent development in our case. We've tried sticker charts and toilet tickets which is just a different spin on sticker charts really. We've tried tokens. We've had doctors and hospital appointments to make sure it's nothing underlying. Which might be something to think about, maybe your dad has had a uti?
Unfortunately I haven't got any real advice but I'd like to see what others suggest.

Have you taken her to the GP to see if she has a UTI?

Have you asked school for a referral to the local paediatric continence service? You can ask your GP for this too.

And as she’s just under five, you can also talk to the health visitor.

Is she constipated? That can cause urinary incontinence.

In the meantime, encouraging her to have regular toilet sits is a good idea. She should go after breakfast, mid morning, after lunch, just before home time in school, mid afternoon and after dinner. School need to remind her.

You do have to take action about this. Fretting and getting cross isn’t going to fix it.

Thanks for the advice. I doubt she has a UTI as the issue is only at school, she’s fine going to the toilet at home. But I will speak to the GP just incase
