Baby crying hysterically when meeting family.

So as the topic says my little girl cries hysterically when meeting anyone.
She hasn't always been like this seems to have started the last 2weeks, she is 4 months old my family came to visit last week she was fine with them. But when we went to their house she screamed hysterically the whole time in the end I made my excuses and left as it was making me feel on edge. They couldn't even look at her without her shouting at them. Is this just a phase? Or will she always react like this to people cause I feel anxious about letting her meet anyone now. Thanks for any advice xx

@Tara85xx hello, not sure if this helps but my son was like this till about 1 year and even now is very unsure with strangers.

It is normal and please do not feel ashamed or otherwise, just support your baby and don't let her be stressed. I tries to always take him to a different room, without people, just reassure him and then we went back, and repeat as long as he settled in my arms. I did not force him to like people or to be held or even approached too closely and he is slowly getting over it. Good luck :)

Thank you for the advice I will try this next time. Just hate to see her so upset as normally she is a very happy baby always smiling and babbling away and very rarely cries so it is a shock to see her like this xx
