How do you deal with wondering toddler?

Hello, so im just wondering how people deal with wondering toddlers. Mine is 20 months but has always been one to go exploring which is great but sometimes I feel like I cannot take my eyes off him. Literally. So what to do you in situations like the below:

Meals out: (wants to go walking around, will not sit at table and eat nicely)
Caravan holiday: (won't dance with other kids near stage where I can see him, wants to run around the whole building)
Zoo: wants to run around but I have pushchair (for him as he won't walk far) as well and can't do both.

I just worry so much that he will run off or someone will pinch him if I take my eyes off him for one second. Is dad is much more relaxed so I feel like I have sole responsibility for him in these situations. Maybe it's just mum life but it gives me so much anxiety.

Meals out: Yea go back to that one when they are about 4/5 years old or maybe younger if you want to bribe with a screen. Little people have no interest in sitting still simples.

Caravan holiday : Why make someone do something they don't want to? Kid wants to run around you either chase after them or take them somewhere more suitable for them to run

Zoo: Leave pushchair at home /in car and run after them?

It's a tough time with a toddler but the good news is they do grow up eventually

My son went through a phase probably around the same age where he literally ran everywhere, if we went for a 'walk' it was literally me jogging along with him. He's nearly three now and whilst he still loves to run he will also just happily walk with me. It may well be just a phase fingers crossed. Make the most of 'safe' outdoor spaces like fenced playgrounds or big parks so he can burn himself out and you can easily monitor him!

Instead of a pushchair at the zoo bring a hiking backpack carrier so he can run around while he's got the energy and when he gets tired you can carry him. There should be enough room in most to carry all the items you'd normally have in your nappy bag. But practice at home where you have help getting the backpack on and off with your child in it as it is tricky on your own and takes a bit of practice.
