5 month adjusted development

Hi there,

I posted something like this a few weeks ago on the premature thread but just wanted to see if I get a few more replies here.

My little girl was born at 35 weeks and is now nearly 5 months adjusted. She seems to be doing pretty well in general - reaches for things and can sit with a bit of support/hold her head up. However she just seems to be absolutely nowhere near rolling over or grabbing her feet. When she’s on her play mat she’ll kick a lot and reach for things but I see so many younger babies rolling to the side and grabbing at their feet. Is this still within the range of normal? I’m a first time mum (can you tell haha) and it’s been hard being in lockdown and not seeing anyone so I am struggling to know if I’m over reacting.

Thanks xx

My DD was born at 36 weeks - she didn’t grab her feet until 5.5/6 months, rolled front to back at 5 months (only because she hates being on her belly) but didn’t roll back to front until 8.5 months. She’s 10.5 months now and only recently started rolling more confidently. She sat unaided at 7 months but only for a minute or two, didn’t master it until 9 months. No where near crawling or pulling to stand. (All actual age, not adjusted).

All babies are different. I’m sure she’ll do things when she’s ready. Smile

My DD was born full term and didn't roll until six months (and that was just tentative rolling, she didn't do it with confidence until after seven months). She didn't crawl until about ten months and only pulled to stand at one - she's 15 months now and not yet walking but very close.
She's on track though, she's just taking her time and focusing on being a chatterbox.
I was only posting because I wanted to say not to worry thinking it's because she was born early - as DD was born full term. The HV assured me it's all within normal ranges and not to worry and she was right really.

Thank you for the replies - it’s reassuring to know that even full term babies vary in their development too! My next question is... does the worry ever stop? Haha x

Not so far! Although the intense anxiety about her development I had to begin with has worn off a lot and been replaced with a terrible fear someone will steal her from
Nursery or something so I do phone them a lot to check on how she is. I figure it will always be something to worry about and fill me with fear
