Subject says it really. She's showing an interest in imaginative play with dolls, dolls house type toys, which range would you say is best?

I dont think there is too much difference tbh. I bought little people for my ds as I liked the look of the farm and zoo as he is animal mad ... but I am sure they have equally good things in the happyland range. Happyland may be a little cheaper especially when ELC do their 3 for 2 offers.

LIZS · 06/11/2007 21:42

We have had Little People. There is slightly more of a sense of humour to their toys - ie boggly eyes on the bus and mpv and you don't have track to get broken up. Woolworths often have sets with extra figures and vehicles.

I've got PINTOYS for my two - little people, furniture, etc. They've had so much fun with them, and they're really well made. Plus made out of sustainable rubberwood. You can buy them quite cheap here: pintoys

we had little people for ds and by 2 and a half he was bored of it. Dds have a pintoy dolls house and people and they are 22mths and 10mts

We have loads of Happyland. I bought a lot of it on Ebay and DD3 still plays with it, aged five. I don't know the other set, but I have found Happyland really good for play value.

Hulababy · 06/11/2007 22:13

Would definitely recommend Happyland. DD started getting it at 18 months, and was still playing with it just before earlier this year - so almost 5yo. By the time she was 3 and 4 it would keep her quiet in imaginative play for literally an hour and more at a time, playing in her own little world. We had quite a lot - a whole village of buildings, people, animals, vehicles, and track - filled the living room floor. And she loved it.

It is really good quality and lasts the distance. It looked as good as new by the time I sold it, and it does keep its value well too.

Snap Hulababy!

sweetkitty · 06/11/2007 22:17

We have mostly Little People and some Happyland, I think Little People are better made but theres not that much in it.

Both DDs (3 and 21 months) play with it every day.

Hulababy · 06/11/2007 22:18

I found opposite to Sweetkitty. Friend managed to break her Little People, none of her Happyland got broken despite same level of play. Just seemed more fragile and not as sturdy.

NoBigBangy · 06/11/2007 22:19

We have happyland, but dd was given some little people things, and some Wow things - I just bunged it all in together.

ForcesSweetheart · 06/11/2007 22:54

thanks everyone, advice much appreciated.

Happyland still played with at 4. 'little people is for babies mummy'... not touched for about a year now!

sweetkitty · 06/11/2007 23:02

Sorry didn't realise it was you FS doh must read better would say go for both DD2 the same age as your DD adores Little People and Happyland, she tries and copies DD1 playing with it.

I got DD1 Noahs Ark to start with as she was really into animals, since then we have got the Castle, the Bus, the House thing, a garage (my girls love cars) and Santa is bringing the train for DD2's Christmas.

Maggieb52 · 06/11/2007 23:16

playmobil or pintoy are my favs. My 5 year old still plays with his and they are both indestructable

Ineedacleaner · 07/11/2007 08:46

We actually have a bit of both. I do like the happy land stuff because it kind of all goes together if that makes sense, we have the play mat, the big cottage, market, post office things like that and you do get good deals on it with ELC offers. The Little people is a bit more random, we have a zoo and an aeroplane things like that.

ALthough the children do juts lump it together and play with it as one toy.

Hulababy · 07/11/2007 19:12

ELV's other bits like the palace, castle, fairy toadstool, etc. all go with Happyland really well. The people are the same size/shape so are interchangeable.

ScoobyDooooo · 07/11/2007 19:15

We brought little people for ds & he got bored with it very quickly, we are going to get dd some things from happyland for christmas as they look more interesting we will see how it goes

Clayhead · 07/11/2007 19:18

My dd and ds are 5 (nearly 6) and 4 and spent an hour playing with Happyland after school today. They have the castle and pirate ship too, which they love.

tassisssss · 07/11/2007 19:23

we have little people and it's nice

but i think the happyland may be nicer...and there's more of it I think. we have LOADS of it in our church creche and i used it over the summer with a bunch of 3-5 year olds who absolutely LOVED it

NAB3littlemonkeys · 07/11/2007 19:30

beowulf · 08/11/2007 08:51
