14mo DS Constant vomiting

Would love some wise words from any other parents out there who have been through similar.
My DS is 14mo and developing really well; healthy height/weight, happy baby, hitting all milestones etc.
The issue is that he vomits a lot and seems to have a very sensitive gag reflex.
He does okay when eating certain foods by himself (crackers, banana, rice cakes etc) but will generally gag when spoon fed or when he eats foods with mushy textures like mashed up baked beans or mince beef.
He also vomits after meals frequently (maybe every 2-3 days). It's heart-breaking to see him suddenly make that 'uh-oh' face when he's finished a meal and for everything to come straight back up.
I've spoken to the GP and followed their advice of feeding little and often, earlier in the day and starting Gaviscon but this hasn't helped.
It's gotten to the point where he's developing a real food aversion and will scream if we try to put him in his high chair or feed him. This week he has hardly eaten solids and just wants to nurse all the time.
I had assumed these symptoms would improve as he got older but they seem to be getting worse and I'm massively stressed out by it all.

I'll be calling the GP back but would be keen to know if anyone has been through the same or has advice?

How is his speech? Is he babbling plenty of sounds? I know speech apraxia can be linked with feeding issues is all. Is he meeting milestones otherwise? Pointing? Clapping? Does he seem to find anythinf else sensory-wise overwhelming? I think the idea of little and often is a good one. Maybe have a selection of tapas style offerings available for much of the day rather than offering large meals. It will remove the stress for you both. If it's a significant. I can't say I've heard of such significant feeding issues in a 14MO so my instinct is it's worth exploring with your GP/HV further and insisting on more help. I hope people come along who've had similar issues though and help you out. My LO is a human hoover so I don't have personal experience lol x

Thank you for replying.
Speech is good (I think). He has about 15 words (things like Dada and Hat) and babbles lots. Yes, he points, claps, runs around and is a very social little guy.
I agree that the tapas thing seems like a good route to go down and should logically take pressure off. For example, this morning I left out a small plate with a rice cake & almond butter, bit of banana and satsuma pieces. He nibbled the rice cake but that was it.
Then lunch, I offered pasta, cheese and sliced chicken and cucumber but he just nibbled the cucumber.
At least we had no vomiting!

Speech sounds excellent for his age and pretty much rules out apraxia I reckon. I think all you can do is what you are doing but I'd push for more assessments too x

That's reassuring. He's my first and we've not been meeting any other babies due to Covid, so it can be hard to know what normal is. I'll report back after GP visit.
