Toddler dropped 3 centile points in height... should I be worried?

I might be being a tad neurotic here but... my dd was born on the 9th centile in height, and she's now 19 months old and suddenly measuring on the 0.4th centile! I'm super short myself (150cm), but my husband is 6ft, and according to our 'mid-heights', she should actually be measuring somewhere around the 17th centile. She's on the 50th centile for weight so we're not worried that she's not eating enough, and her diet is so healthy (lots of fresh veggies and fruit, tofu, lean meats and fish - when I can get her to eat it), but she's recently stopped wanting to have as much milk as she used to, so I doubt she drinks the full 340ml recommended every day. I keep reading that such a short height could be down to a nutritional deficiency, and I'm worried she's not getting what she's supposed to. Has anyone else's toddler suddenly shot up the centiles after measuring super small? Should I be worrying about this at all? Thanks!

Personally, I'd mention it to the GP or HV just to rule out any cause.

It could just be that you're short but they may want to rule out a few things. It's good that she has a decent weight though, she's obviously absorbing some food.

Have you thought of increasing her calcium and vitamin D intake to see if that helps?

My daughter's height was always fine but her weight was all over the place on that graph. I hate how health visitors expect they should stay on one line and if they drop it must mean something's wrong. It's completely normal for them to fluctuate, weight or height. I haven't looked at that graph in the red book for a long time now as it's a cause for unnecessary worry and stress. My mother still has mine and my sister's red books tucked away and she showed me my graph and my sister's and I saw that our weights fluctuated all over the place too. Sorry, but I think those graphs in the red book are bollocks. Also stop reading up online, just see the doctor if your worried who will more than most likely say there's nothing wrong. Your daughter is only 19months old. Her weight is healthy and she's still got growing to do yet which it will happen naturally. Cut yourself some slack , there's nothing wrong and don't define how everything's supposed to be by those charts . All children are different Smile

@Hana1988 did you ever get any advice around this? Has your LO had any growth spurts? We’re in a similar situation and I can’t stop worrying about it! Our GP is reassuring but I’ve read information around when this could be a concern.

@Hana1988 @thebearandthemare hey any updates from either of you? I have a 14month still on 2nd. We've just ruled out SHOX (genetic growth hormone deficiency) but now at a loss as to what is going on. I am 5 ft 4 and hubby 6ft 2 so just doesn't seem right for our little lad to be so small?
