Hiya, my ds is 6 weeks old. He was delivered by forcep. He cries a lot since birth, his sleeping pattern is nightmare. He is a light sleeper which falls into sleep for 15 mins and then cry for 45 mins from on and off. He stops crying only I put him on my breast or cuddle him. Once I put him on his cot he awake again and start crying. He is also suffered from colic. When i went to the NCT class, one of girls mentioned about cranial osteopath which may help for cranky baby. I am looking for one at West London or North London. Is anyone can help. Many many many thanks. Minnie the mouse

Shine Holistic on Stoke Nerwington Church St, London N16. They have a couple of fab cranial osteopaths there - Chris and Rehana (Rehana is particularly wonderful). They also offer a range of alternative / holistic therapies, some of which are suitable for kids.

There is a great cranial osteopath on Dorchester Road in Bayswater W2, quite close to Paddington Station. Called CristaGalli I think. The guy I saw there for my DS when he had horrible evening colic was Jeremy Gilbey and my DS was totally settled after 2 sessions with him.

there is the centre for cranial osteopathy in shoreditch where they are training students - it is brilliant - each student is accompanied by a tutor so you get double attention. its a wonderful place with a very calming atmos. you pay a donation according to what you can afford but most pay about £50/ session.

Active Birth Centre in Archway - the osteopaths there do cranial as well. They're great!

cargirl is talking about the occ on becks5109's reply ... it is the children's cranial osteopathy centre in EC1 between Islington and Farringdon. They operate as a charity and ask you to pay what you can afford I believe. I work nearby and know loads of people who have taken their children their and had great results. Def worth a visit.

Hiya, i found a local cranial osteopath from Sutherland Society website by NIP's link. It works.. brillant and fabulous. After the first visit, my ds settles a lot especially on sleep disturbance. He needs one or two more visit to shoot out the colic problem, hopefully he will settle by then.

Mabelmay, thanks for the info. I tried to make appointment with Jeremy Gilbey at his clinic at bayswater or northwood. However, the earliest appointment is from Dec 2007. I believe he must be brillant, otherwise, his diary wont be fully book until Dec 2007.

Thanks again to everyone for those useful information.

Try the children's osteopath centre. It's in Clerkenwell but is well worth a visit. Treatment is by donation too!

I took my dd to the children's osteopathy centre when she was tiny. It made me feel I was doing something to combat the sleeplessness etc, gave me a small sense of control but, actually, treatment did b*er al to help. People talk about cranial osteopathy as if it is some sort of miracle but everyone I know has had similar results to me - in the end their baby just grew out of crankiness. Also, when dd didn't respond to their treatment (she had undiagnosed reflux), the CO told me that she was just a very "angry baby" which I think is a shocking thing to say to a new mother obviously worn out and at the end of her tether.

TBH, I think it is a load of hokum but it seems to be one of those things any middle class mother is expected to do now. Sure I will get flamed for this heresy but ho hum.
