4 month old refusing bottle

Help! My dd is 16 weeks old and started becoming a difficult feeder at 11 weeks. At first, she would cry during her feeds but would eat 6 ounces over about half an hour. Then last week, I was advised to change her milk and since then she has got much, much worse. She now is now taking between 1 and 4 ounces and even that is with a big struggle. I wouldn't worry, but she is generally a very happy little girl but is now moaning a lot as she is constantly hungry. My hv hasn't been able to help. I have tried changing her teat to a smaller teat as I was wondering if she was panicking, but that hasn't really helped. I have tried Gaviscon in case it's reflux but again, no improvement. Both of us are now getting upset at every feed (which I know isn't helping) and I spend all day dreading the next one as it's just such a battle. I have considered weaning her early, but she isn't showing any of the signs the DoH says and I'm worried that if I start to wean her now, she will stop taking milk altogether. I wondered if anyone else had been through this and if anyone had any advice.

both my 2 refused the bottle, DS at 13 weeks he decided to go on bottle strike and DD never took to a bottle till she was 8 months old.

What I found that helped was different teats (for older babies so they get to drink quicker) or even a cup. DD just wanted her milk warmer!

very stressful but hopefully you'll find a way shortly!

Both of mine have gone on bottle strike at 3.5 mo...DD1 decided at the age of 2 that she wanted a bedtime bottle - but always refused them before that! Maybe my kids are just weird though: DD1 didn't learnt to sit unsupported till well after she was crawling and it looks like DD2 is going the same way.

It's very hard to watch how your baby doesn't eat..I've gone through this and i understand how you feel, but remember stay calm as baby can feel your worries...some babies are very fussy..my baby boy wouldn't eat anything until 8 months as he wanted only breastfeeding, but the problem was that i had no longer eanough milk to feed him and he was all the time hungry...i tried different things and all i noticed was that he just didn't like the taste of everything..some babies don't eat because their gums are hurting...you may think that ur baby girls is too young for having teeth yet but trust me i've seen 2 months old babys having their second tooth...try to soothe her teeth down and maybe she will eat better...
