Crying and lying

My partner has been living with me now for 6 months since gradually introducing my daughter to him for a long while. It's been a struggle and I'm now at the end of my tether my daughter will lie and cry as soon as my back is turned I can't even shower without her claiming something has happened. Now I've taken steps to ensure something isn't actually happening and caught her on many occasions quite obviously lying. I've tried talking to her, I've tried quiet time every time it happens and also explaining it's not nice behaviour.
My partner is lovely and tries so hard with her constantly. I just don't know what to do now because we're getting nowhere she's unhappy I'm unhappy and so is he. Does anyone have any advice?

What age is your daughter? What sort of interaction does she have with her dad?

How old is she OP?

Hi my daughter is 3 and half and she has a reasonably good relationship with her dad he has her 2 evenings a week.
She's always been quite difficult to bond with and it takes her far longer to be accepting of males possibly becasue her father had little to no interaction with her for the first 2 years of her life. Now she's older they seem to be happier when together.
She goes to nursery I work full time hours so I'm desperate for a happy home.

Is it possible your ex could be trying to sabotage things or that she might think if he leaves her dad can come back or that she thinks that you can only ever have one male role model and that’s your dad?

I'm still struggling here I have discovered my ex isn't helping the situation by talking to my daughter about 'happier' times when we all lived together. And suggesting my current partner is 'run over' I've confronted him with this and he says there's no malice.
I'm so warn out trying to please everyone at moment and getting absolutely no where. I don't want to end things with my partner we absolutely adore each other but if we can't get on as a unit then what else can I do
