8 month dd, frustrated and clingy, any experience to share?

Hi everyone,
My dd is just lovely and really not a difficult child by any means. But recently she's gone from smiley and pretty easy to entertain to what seems to be easily bored and a bit whingy!
Just wanted to know if this is quite a common phase, she's got her 2 lower teeth so I'm sure more are on their way as we speak, she's also trying to crawl, bottom shuffle, stand and general get going. She seems frustrated and doesn't know if she wants to be pick up, get back down again etc. Getting out and about seems to be the best thing for it, but has anyone had a similar experience and any insights to share?

My DS got very frustrated and very clingy for a few weeks before he crawled, he was better then for a bit as he had loads to explore! Now he's getting frustrated because he can't walk (at least I think that's what it is!!)

Hi lj, my DD gets clingy and whingy every time a new tooth is on its way in (she's 10 months now). She needs the comfort of being held but is also in pain so gets grumpy. Could this be it? Does Calpol stop her being grumpy? if so then there's your answer! If not then I think you already suspect frustration at not being mobile enough. I used a baby bouncer (tippitoes do a good one) when my dd wanted to move but was pre-crawliing. Also I found the first steps baby walker a god-send, entertaining (but annoying) panel and now DD loves tearing round the house pushing it around. HTH.

Ds used to get very frustrated the 2 or 3 weeks before milestones. Before he comando crawled he screamed his head off everytime we put him down. The few weeks before his vocabulary increased hugely overnight he was miserable and so on even when he was 6 or 7 , he was the same.

Thanks everyone, think you're all spot on there. I suspect the milestones is probably the main contributer. She does sometimes get fretful with teeth but this has been more pronounced. Interestingly, she had a real growth spurt a couple of weeks ago and was really not herself for a couple of days.
