Ds1 (2), when he wakes up or is woken up, he kind of shakes/trembles as if he is a very stiff old man.
Does you child do this?
Please tell me they do as sometimes it looks quite wierd....

I do this sometimes, it's low blood pressure. Ds1 does it if he gets up to pee in the night - I presume it's the same thing.

ds does this

LadyOfTheFlowers · 28/10/2007 23:11

Oh, is the blood pressure thing a prob then? Do I have to take him to the Docs or do we all have low pressure when we wake up but only some people shake?

I think (in no way an expert answer, just my highly unqualified opinion) that some people have naturally low blood pressure (I know I am one of them)

And when we first wake up, blood pressure is lower than normal anyway. So if it's low already, then dips lower than normal, it makes you shake.

certainly if I have to get up while it is still dark, or if I am dehydrated, I shake a lot.

Are you sure he's not just having a wee? Little boys always shiver when they wee.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 28/10/2007 23:40

Do they? What when they are asleep and weeing?
he has started using the potty in the day or peeing straight into the loo whilst standing and he does not shake then?

If he wakes in his sleep and tries to sit up, sometimes it takes him ages as his body is shaking.

No, they shiver when they wee into a nappy.

However, it's only a little shiver and it doesn't last very long. If his whole body is shaking/trembling, then I'd imagine that Colditz is nearer the mark.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 28/10/2007 23:51

I thought the blood thing may be closer.
It is normal though. The Doc does not need to be informed or anything?

I don't know, Lady.

It wouldn't harm to have a chat with the GP, just to put your mind at rest.

'Kay, will do, thanks all! x
