2 year old aggression

Hello, try keep this brief. Looking for advice on how to handle toddler aggression.

Daughter turned 2 end of November and can communicate really really well.

She doesn't throw many tantrums I can usually talk her round most of her frustrations but example of this evening (the same sequence of events happens every time).

She wanted to wear a banana skin as a hat (of course!) but I said no;

She comes to me and squeezes my cheeks and growls 'cheeeky boyyy' (no clue where this has come from)

I move her hands from my cheeks and say 'please don't hurt mummy, gentle hands'.

She then slaps me, and continues to until I either pretend to cry (LOL) in which case she says sorry and kisses me however it clearly doesn't stop her doing it again. Or I've tried holding her wrists by her side and saying no hitting we don't hit blah blah all the soft stuff my MIL who works in early years tells me, but each time she gets frustrated we have the same thing. Until she litterally boils like a kettle and shakes goes read and screams NOOOOOOOO!

I'm taking from it she's got some habits from childminders because she afterwards will feel bad and come rub my arm or hand going 'I know mummy, I know' 🤣!

Any advice? I expect many 'this is normal toddler behaviour' responses but this is my first toddler and I just want to get it right 🙂

Thanks

Why couldn't she wear a banana skin as a hat?

Mine are a fair bit older now but I realised fast some battles not worth fighting. If she wants a banana skin hat theb at the age of 2 why not?

Behave lol...

If she actually liked Bananas I'd let her do what she wants with the skin but she wanted one out of the fridge because she saw a banana skin hat on the telly Hmm

Ah OK bit different to what I had assumed that she ate the banana and put it on her head.

I'm that case I would have just got paper, yellow pencil and stapler out

Ahwweee if I was asking for alternative banana hats I'd have made that clear Wink

I think it was around 2 that we started putting toys on the shelf for bad behavior.
