Ideas for 'wind down time' with toddlers dropping their nap

My 33MO is starting to be really difficult about napping. For months she would only nap if I took her out in the car but now she's being awkward about that and it feels like it isn't really worth the battle. 2 days in a row now she's insisted on going to lie down in her bedroom and lie with her but then she's really figety and keeps kicking me out the bed then making me come back and making no real effort to go to sleep. I don't want several months of just having to lie in a dark room with her for ages so does anyone have any tips for quiet things we could do together that won't drive me so mad? Lol. We are currently just chilling watching frozen but I'm not convinced that is massively relaxing as the screen is surely quite stimulating. Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks x

I will add she can just about make it to bedtime now without her nap but is mega grumpy by bedtime and tends to be knackered again next day

I used to be able to read my dc to sleep at that age, we'd get cuddled up under the duvet and I'd read a book in the most boring monotone voice imaginable, getting slower and quieter as time went on, as they were dropping off I wouldn't risk turning the page I'd just re read and re read the same page over and over, fading out...... Then I'd shut my eyes too, winner winner! I did it poolside once on holiday much to the admiration of another mum watching on. Grin
