7pm, though he is six now and sometimes it can be 10 past before we have got them all to bed. Up by 7. Pretty much the same at weekends, though may stay up a few minutes later. This morning they all slept in until after 7.30 so I was pleased.

nailpolish · 22/10/2007 17:15

oh good, mine are the same, i just wondered if it was too early after hearing what others were saying

they are so tired by 7 though

Ds2 is 5 in a couple of weeks. Goes to bed 7-7.30 and gets up about the same time. He would sleep longer if it wasn't for his brothers who seem to need much less sleep.

Yes, I know people who keep children up on the weekend but I don't. I still want to chill out in the evening whether it's the weekend or not! It's time for dh and I to be on our own so it's bed as normal for mine.

nailpolish · 22/10/2007 17:18

god yes you need that time dont you gdg

i ahve bedtimes at same time at weekends too

I wouldn't be bothered by what other people do. Children need a good 10-12 hours a night and I am sure there are plenty of kids who don't get what they need.

Gobbledispook · 22/10/2007 17:22

Holiday was fabbo. We went to Morton of Pitmilly nr St Andrews and it was perfect. St Andrews is lovely and there is so much to do around there. Boys loved it. Will deffo go back there at some point.

nailpolish · 22/10/2007 17:24

Ds is 5 and quite happy to be in bed reading at 7pm, probably closer to quarter or half past by the time he's asleep. I wake him up for school at 8am and he struggles tbh.

bobsmum · 22/10/2007 17:27

Same at weekends.

ELR · 22/10/2007 17:32

same here 7-715 up at 7.30 to 8am

Lorayn · 22/10/2007 17:46

my dd is 6, 7 in november, has gone to bed at around 7ish for goodness knows how long, her brother who is nearly 3 goes to bed at the same time.

They both get up between 6:30-7:30 school days, have varying bedtimes at weekends/holidays, just because the routine isnt as strict, they were allowed to watch the first half of the rugby saturday for example, and they were up late friday because DD had a disco to go to that DP picked us up from at 10pm, yet if it was a school night there would be no leniency.

They still get up around the same time as weekdays though, no matter what time they go to bed, sometimes maybe half hour or so difference, but thats about it.

indignatio · 22/10/2007 17:48

bed at 7.30pm (8pm on Fri and Sat nights)
Up at 7am
Oh ds is 5

Bonniecat · 22/10/2007 21:36

DD is in bed between 7.30 and 8, usually as 3 stories then ready to sleep by 8 to 8.30. Gets up at 7.30 ish but its a struggle tbh. I find it hard to get her into bed any earlier as she is in after school club - her school has an 08.30 start and then after school club till 5.30, so by the time we get home and I cook tea its almost 6.30. If I had to get her in bed any earlier I would have to be liquidising her food - how do people do it???
I do feel guilty as I feel she might suffer with sleep deprivation, but then I hardly see her. Plus if I do manage to do an earlier bedtime at the weekend then she doesn;lt fall asleep any earlier and is still up at 07.15 on sat/sun

tassisssss · 22/10/2007 21:39

ds is 4.5

goes to bed at 7pm and usually wakes just before 7am though we've trained him to lie quietly in bed until we know on the wall and he comes bounding through to us.

same at weekends

i hope he'll continue going to bed at 7pm for a LONG time!

Hulababy · 22/10/2007 21:41

On a school night DD goes tobed around 7:30pm. On busy evenings it might be 8pm by time she is settled in bed. She wakes at about 7am, sometimes a bit later. She has to be up and about not much later though, to be ready to leave the house with DH by about 7:55am.

DD generally sleeps for 11-12 hours a night, regradless of when she goes to bed.

This is very useful for weekends and on holidays. If we want a later start, we know DD can go to bed later. Beneficial all round Weekend and holiday bedtimes can vary loads depending on where we are, what we are doing and who we are with.

Gingerbear · 22/10/2007 21:44

7pm bath, 7.30 in bed, story and lights out by 8pm. She usually gets up at 7am, sleeps in if she has had a 'nasty dream' and has snuggled into our bed.
