is it possible that my ds is teething already? He's 14 wks, very bright and alert and big for his age. He's recently started biting on anything he can grab, he'll bite onto my hand, hard. His cry has changed too. He's also waking more often, seems more touchy and has bitten me hard whilst feeding-eek! First baby and no clue about teething really...........anyone?

dd2 and 3 started teething at this age and then it calmed down and then it started again at about 5 months and they got the bottome two teeth
Tis definitely possible, it sounds to me from what you have said that he is
Good luck with it

Ds's first teeth actually appeared at 12 weeks, so yes it is possible.

Dds first teeth came through at 4 and a half months. I suspect they had started moving around a good few weeks before that though. I think that teeth do move around for some time before they cut through, so your ds might be feeling them. However, it could still be a while.

The homeopathic teething powders are good.

my dd went through a terrible couple of weeks at about 3.5m, then nothing for ages! First 2 teeth appeared at about 6m.

ds certainly showed every sign of teething in the book at this age - but he's now 6m and no damn tooth

there are Ashton's and Parson's teething powders which are herbal, not homeopathic AFAIK - in the painkillers section at boots.

You can also get Nelson's teething granules which are homeopathic.

Thanks everyone, glad to hear it's common.
