I'm wondering whether it's just a gimmic or if we'll get loads of use out of it.

we have one and the boys LOVE it, is that the small size or the larger one? we got the larger size for ds3 for his first bday and he is now nearly 3 and still uses it everyday, whizzez about, spins round and round absolutely loves it, as do his elder brothers (5 and 8yrs) infact i have had a go on it seriously its fab, we have had regular ride on toys etc, but none have been used as much as this

its especially good on wooden or laminated floors

cazzybabs · 14/10/2007 19:49

Yes - we have the larger one and dd2 used it from about 1.5 and even leaqrnt to walk with it and dd1 still goes on (aged nearly 6)

ruddynorah · 14/10/2007 19:50

it's bloody brilliant i tell ya! get one godammit! dd has the cow one, learnt to walk with it first, now scoots round and pushes her soft toys round on it. best thing we've got her ever.

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 14/10/2007 19:54

That's brilliant - I was wondering about the small or large. DD is 10 months and I want to get her something that she can use as a walker but not stab her skull with when she falls over. Should I just get a large one then???

dd has the small one. got it when she was one, her feet didn't touch the ground. she's now 17months and her feet are nicely flat on the floor and she can scoot about comfortably.

3madboys · 14/10/2007 19:55

i would say just get the large one, she will be able to push it around easily and will quickly grow into it, i think the small ones are a bit too small and dont last as long. like i said, ours is the big one and is used by all three of the boys and occasionally by me its well worth the money

hana · 14/10/2007 19:56

i am going to order the larger size for dd3 for xmas - she will be 15months by then - will get more use out of it!

hana · 14/10/2007 20:13

anyone find it cheaper than 57.50 with free postage at all? (2littlefeet)

NotAnOtter · 14/10/2007 20:15

the people i bought my house off had a REALLY old one - it was leather - their youngest child was 9 = i may buy one for dc;s at christmas

wheelybug · 14/10/2007 20:16

we do (unsurprisingly)... dd had it for her first birthday and is now almost 3 and still uses it. One of the best toys she's had.

Are they really ok to learn to walk with or are they too skiddy??

OP posts:
katewilson13 · 15/10/2007 13:54

They are brilliant. I bought a small one (from an ebay shop - a shop not an individual. Go onto ebay and search the shops. Much much cheaper than anywhere else) for DS's first birthday and now, at 14 months, he is whizzing about it. He holds on to it and walks with it as he his feet won't reach the ground yet to actually sit on it. I know what you mean about skidding about - but although it does a bit he has taught him manouverability and he doesn't have to keep asking me to help when it gets stuck or he runs into the door with it. Buy one. They'll love it.

littleNonSpecificHolidaylapin · 15/10/2007 13:57

We have the small bee, he is called Nigel .

DS used to push him around when he was crawling, then sort of dragged him around by the handle... now he sits on him and scoots around or stand on him .

DS never used it as a walker though. We have this as well and that was his walker - he loves the blocks too.

JacOLantanne · 15/10/2007 14:00

We have one - it's great. It's even better if you have hard floors to wheelie on. We sometimes take ours to the park too. I think they may be a bit cheaper on kiddicare.com.

CarGirl · 15/10/2007 14:04

I have one don't know if it's the small or large one can someone measure the wood bit on theirs and tell me - if I've got a small one I'll upgrade to a large but as all 3 dds use it thinking it may be the large already.

TIA

stealthsquiggle · 15/10/2007 14:08

LL LOL at "Nigel" - We have a newly acquired small bee and were thinking of trading him up having watched DD trying to fit her bum on to him and sliding off the back

littleNonSpecificHolidaylapin · 15/10/2007 14:09

Everyone always says "why not Bertie or something, Nigel is so weird..." durrr, that's the POINT!

stealthsquiggle · 15/10/2007 14:12

Nigel is a very good name for a bee. We have a sheep called Albert

lionheart · 15/10/2007 14:18

They are ace, two year old, five year old, six and seven year olds cannot resist it.

lionheart · 15/10/2007 14:19

I will admit to having tried it but have to confess that it has no name.

Just reviving this thread to ask does anyone have the mouse?

Like the look of it best, but notice that the ears are in what is a clear space on the others, so wondering if they get in the way of proper use?
