dummies

my ds doesnt really take a dummy often, but we have them incase he gets gurny i the car or shops. he in coming up for 5months but will only take the dummy for 0-3months and not the ones for 3-6 months. is this a big deal and any suggestions to get him to take the one meant 4 his age

I would have thought the smaller dunmmy the better if he has one nsmith. Our dentist said a dummy was beter than a thumb if you had a "sucky" child as you could take it out (we always had a rule that they came out of they were speaking to us ) A thumb becomes a life time habit & is harder on the teeth. I stressed about it with DD1 & weaned her off it too early (for her!) & she is now a thumb-sucker at 12 & heading for braces

DD2 I let have a dummy for longer but she wasn't quite so "sucky" & she has better teeth.
