Nearly 10 month old & still not eating

Hi there Smile
Just after a bit of advice! My 3rd child just won't eat! There's about two things he'll eat- greek yogurt & puree and a sachet of carrots, apples & parsnips. That is it. He never took to weaning at 6 months & we are still no further forward. Anything he tries he gags (even if its not lumpy) and just locks his lips. Has his bottles fine but not food.
I've tried dropping bottles, BLW, distraction, trying to make it fun- nothing. He's only JUST started sitting up too. I thought that might've had something to do with it but nope!
HV advised me to go to the GP over hypermobility- he is fine but is being referred to a pediatrician just in case. In the mean time has anyone been through the same? He just won't try anything at all!
Never had this issue with my 2 daughters. My second daughter only got fussy later on, not as a baby.

Getting super stressy & it's really not helping my depression. HV said he needs to be eating as milk is not sufficient anymore.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Have him with all of you when you are having your meals at the dinning table. Let him sit in his highchair and participate in the dinner dynamic and if he seems interested let him try and taste.
While you prepare food, have him. next to you in his high chair and give him a melanin plate and a wooden spoon so he can see you cutting veggies, chopping and can hear, see, smell, touch food.
The pouch he likes is basically apple sauce, so try making your own. If he gags on food, what about soups, pumpkin-carrot is a good start, sweet and creamy and you can make it more liquid.
He is having yoghurt with puree. What puree? One you make or a ready one?
Milk is extremely filling. Try not to give it in the two hours prior to meals.
Don't make the feeding time all entered on him. Involve him in the family eating. When you are having your lunch and all together in the weekend if you have dinner when he is already sleeping.

@Mellymoo92 bless you, it’s so frustrating and can really get you down when they just won’t try anything! My LO is 13 months and has been a nightmare getting him to move on from purée.

Maybe this will help - We’ve been taking baby steps to make a little bit of progress but I found that by adding rice mixed in with the purée that he did like was my first win. Just a little bit at first and then a bit more and a bit more till it was like a curry consistency. Then I mixed in the baby pasta you can get increasing it gradually. Then moved on to fusilli. It’s still hard getting him to try new things but I’m just taking the little wins right now lol.

Just keep giving him options along with what he will eat. I know from experience it’s horrible watching them chuck it on the floor but every now and then you will get a win after persistence!

Thanks so much for the comments.
He has his meals every time we eat at the table, I'm always giving him different options to eat- bread, veg, melty sticks. He has started to nibble a little (which is a big step in itself) but still very picky!
He still can't sit up properly, he's always slumped, so we are doing 'physio' to help & paddingbhim out in his seat but I've noticed the more confident he is sitting, the more he is willing to try. I will try and make my own, ive already loads in my freezer with him not wanting any so I'll try with them.

His appointment for the paediatrician is the end of the month, so fingers crossed he's made a vast improvement by then.
Thank you xxx
