Obsessive behaviour, a little worried

My DD is nearly 15 Months Old.
For the last few months she has developed a habit of 'cleaning'.
Last week we went to my MIL, whilst there DD got a tissue off the table and started cleaning the coffee table, passing the tissue from hand to hand and full on cleaning the table. This lasted a good 20mins, nothing would distract her.

When we got home, she got the pack of baby wipes and started cleaning her little chair she has. Full on wiping the whole thing. She was completely fixated on cleaning the chair. This lasted 45 mins this time! I started to worry as she just wouldn't do anything, wouldn't look at us, wouldn't play, eat, drink, nothing. We tried to remove the chair and she had a complete hysterical breakdown where she cried so hard she held her breath.

The cleaning has now become a daily thing, as long as there is a cloth, baby wipe, tissue, clothes, she will use it and clean whatever she wants to clean.

Me and DP are not 'clean freaks', we're not always cleaning or wiping surfaces 24/7.

It may sound silly but I'm getting quite worried that she gets so fixated and obsessed with it.

Am I being silly? Confused

I wouldn't worry. Toddlers ARE obsessive. That's why I've spent many car journeys playing that bloody annoying shark song on repeat Grin my 2YO also likes to clean and has done from a similar age. If anything I'd say it's a good thing as it's a form of immitation and that forms a big part of their overall language and social development. Just enjoy it and buy her a mop and brush for christmas Grin

Don't worry about it. When they do something new (amusing) they go over the top with it until they get bored of it and start on something else. Mine is obsessed with hiding items like the tv remote or phone at the minute.
