My 3 yr old DD has been dry at night for months and since starting nursery in Sept has started to wet the bed a few times a week. I ve tried lifting her as i go to bed but it still happens. Thought she may just be over tired with school etc but its still happening one month later. New baby due in 4 weeks and she s really excited about it so dont think its that. Nothing else has changed at home. Need help before new arrival!!!!!

Maybe she is sleeping heavier because she is busier during the day.
How many months was she dry?

I'm sure you're first thought is right and that it's about being at nursery.
She will get back to 'normal' .Three is young to be dry at night, but what I would suggest is that you don't fret about it, especially with a new baby coming, there will be enough up
heaval for you both.
Ask her if she want to go back in nappies for a while, it's not a step back, it's called surviving, good luck!

btw my dd1 was wetting the bed still when dd2 arrived. You can cope.

Handy hint, put waterproof cover on matress with sheet over as usual then another waterproof cover with another sheet over that and again if you have 3 sets of each. Then if she wets all you have to do is strip away a layer each time. Its soo much easier in the middle of the night.

And, i didnt think lifting was recommended. I certainly didnt find that it helped at all. She would still be wet later anyway.
Blackcurrant juice (so i was told at the time) is apparently a cause for wetting a night.
Obviously try to with hold drinks before bedtime, for about an hour before.
I didnt find nappy type products worked with my dd. She used to take them off anyway.

hachee, that's a good tip, ta

The quilt will still get damp where she was laying (even girls must wee upwards a bit), i just used to turn it over until morning when it gets throughly sorted. We had a spare quilt neaby too. Also, keep spare pyjamas/nighties nearby too. And a washing basket to collect the soggy stuff. Number one must have is obviously the tumble drier for the quick turnaround of wet to clean to dry before the next bedtime.

I agree - having similar trouble with DS age 4 as school is kn4ckering him something rotten. just had to invest in lots of bed-mats and hunt out all the spare sheets, not to mention the waterproof one on the matress. i think the demands on them at the start of new nursery/school year really do wear little people out!

thanks for the advice and helpful tips. She is adamant that she does not want to go back to nappies. she s a real tomboy and DH bought her spiderman pyjamas which she adores. shes had 2 dry nights now so heres hoping spiderman does the trick!
