Can anyone recommend some good baby toys?! 8 months +?

Thanks

My LO used to love treasure baskets.. same basket each time with different things in to explore. Usually random stuff from the house- comb, hat, milk carton, spoons, nail brush, any thing. Just make sure items aren't to small.

Stacking cups. Cheap as chips and so versatile. Xylophone/drums or musical instrument sets. Shape sorters. Mine loved her v-tech Walker and activity table at that age. Home made activities like yoghurt and food colouring painting, paint blobs in a sealed bag, putting straws into an old water bottle, putting cheerios onto straws/pipecleaners. *Some of these might be a bit advanced yet). We ditched most plastic toys that just make a noise when you press a button once she turned 1. I think before then they're fine as babies like the stimulation but after this age I think it's best for them to learn to play more creatively with their toys and focus on puzzle toys etc after this point. Happy playing Smile

Definitely treasure baskets.

Also any sort of musical toys where you press things to get a tune or the alphabet or whatever (ideally with two volume settings, for your benefit that is!). A baby remote control was a good start, but because of the remote bit but because it was small enough for her to hold easily.

We also got DD her first moving toy around this age - a battery powered train. She would watch it go for ages at first, sometimes we put her cuddlies in to “ride it” which she found funny, and then she started following it around.

Although now at 1 she likes stacking and various toy shakers, she wasn’t into either at 8 months, more like 11 months.

Toys we didn’t get on with: big bath toy where you pour water into it and that makes various things spin and another no to bubbles. 🤷🏻‍♀️
