Flat head

Can anybody please give me some advice, my baby is nearly 4 months and has developed a flat head on her right side. I’m not sure wether it is mild, moderate or severe. She always sleeps with her head to the right no matter how many time I reposition her head she will always move it back. I really don’t want it to get any worse, some days I feel like it looks worse than other days but maybe I am just used to looking at it. I don’t know if a doctor will even see her to evaluate anything due to the corona virus but I really don’t want it to get worse and I feel like the doctor will just pan me off.

Are you from the UK? Take her to technology in motion. They can assess her

If you're in the UK your GP will definitely be available to discuss at least if not see in person. It is a benign condition though which will improve with age so unlikely anything can be done except trying not to lie him on the affected area

please check in with technology in motion. My first born had a flat head. Health visitors and doctors said not to worry about his flat head and it would pop out. It didn't. By 9 months we went to technology motion and decided to get a helmet. his head is alot better but not completely round due to his age when he went. It happened again to my 2nd son and we went when he was 4months and he has a great shape head.
It costs a fortune.
The consultant were so helpful, friendly, informative and never forced a sale. I felt it was a lot to take in.
I don't understand why NHS do not support this. I thinks it because more research is needed but very hard to have a group of babies to wear helmets and some don't - too many variables!
The office we went to - a GP was there with their child!
The initial consultation for us was free

There is very little evidence that a helmet will vastly alter the end result. It's expensive and most likely will just cause your baby discomfort tbh. Get it checked by your GP but if it's an uncomplicated flat head it will most likely correct itself by itself AFTER the baby has been walking for some time x

Get a referral to NHS physio via HV. You may be able to self refer. There are specific exercises you can do to help with this which they can recommend, but they will also check LO over.
