14 week old seems in pain with pooing - when does it get better?

My 14 week old has been struggling to poo for a good while now. I've spoken to both my HV and GP about it - sometimes it doesn't trouble her, other times she seems to be in a lot of pain and is grunting and straining, and she does seem generally unhappy although we do get smiles at points in the day. They both assure me it's normal development, and her body is just getting used to it, and my GP suggested I should see some improvement by 16 weeks (I think because she would be sitting more by then so can pass gas more easily?). However, it doesn't stop be being worried that maybe something else could be upsetting her, as she does seem to be in a lot of pain at times and the only thing that seems to settle her is a feed (I'm EBF). I also didn't get a 6 week check (GP stopped it because of coronavirus), so apart from a one off check at the doctor's for an "obstruction" no one has really looked at her.

I've been giving her infacol to help with gas etc as she's been quite unsettled and colicky in her first few months.

I wondered what other people's experience of this was. If she's still learning to poo when does it normally sort itself out?

Probably not in pain, but my DD certainly found it challenging! And it came out with such force when she did manage! Seems quite normal though. It gradually got better over time, but she still had occasional trouble up to a year or so.
