I got my boy to walk by having him stand in front of a coffee table and placing his favourite toy on top. Then I would move back holding his hands and he'd walk a few steps forward. Each time, I would make the distances bigger and his confidence would grow. My boy struggled to put his foot down.

We ended up going to see a physiotherapists who gave a special boot. He must have just learnt to walk and stand that way due to comfort and weakness in one leg. Now he's amazing and no problem what so ever!

As above, we encouraged my dd walking by guiding her towards toys etc. However she just wasn't that bothered by it. Then one day I was sat drinking a tea, she just stood up and off she went and that was that. At this point I kind of figured she'd just be crawling for a while longer, but she surprised us.
Usually they'll just do it when they're ready, and on their own time.

@dreamingofyellowandnavy I'm going through the same thing at the moment with my DD. Physio had advised her wearing boots to give her more support. She's cruising and can stand on her own for a little while. Take steps around the furniture. Just wondering how long it will take until she takes steps unaided?
She also couldn't put one foot flat down. The boots have helped heaps. She can now stand on both flat feet when the boots are off.
I think she's slowly building her muscles.

How long till yours took offf walking?

Hi@summerinthecity22

So he couldn't walk, even with one foot up until he was 18 months. Then a month after he went to see the physio. He liked wearing the special boot that fixed his foot down in a flat position. I wanted to go down the route of a cast. As it seemed the tendon was tight and he would cry if I tried to put it down.

My son liked the boot and would demand it beginning on. He wore it from the moment he woke till his bath time, even napped in it. He wore it for 3 months and each month the foot became flatter until eventually we could see he always walked flat footed. Physio agreed when he saw her a few weeks later.

Hope that helps!

This was a special boot brace not boots bought in the shop.

@summerinthecity22 he cruised and stood for 13 to 18 months but the foot was so high that he ended up crawling everywhere.
