19 month old can only (kindof) say 6 words

And I'm fairly sure he's forgotten one of them. Just saw a video of my friends child who is only 3 months older counting to 14. When does it become delayed speech? Or does it not really matter at this age?

My daughter was talking in proper sentences at 18 months. Son was just using odd words and pointing until he was nearly 3.

Can't shut either of them up now - especially when they've had a drink (in their 40s now with degrees and good jobs)

Only 8 words or word approximations (this also includes animal sounds) are expected at 18M old, so he does not sound very speech delayed at the moment.

My toddler was same at 19 months. No one is interested really until after two. My toddler is now 2 years and 5 months and he's saying 5 word sentences and his vicab is growing every day. I found at two he suddenly had 100 words and then he really developed from then. At 22 months he knew all his colours, but only had about 50 words.

As others have said I think it's so individual to the child and I wouldn't say at this stage your little one is particularly behind - many 18m old I know only say a handful of words. My LO says quite a lot at 20m but on the other hand was a very late walker and bit great with other motor skills for ages so I think it can be swings and roundabouts. If you're concerbed it never hurts to have a chat with gp or health visitor. I imagine they will be able to reassure you but if for any reason anything underlying they can point you in right direction xxx

Sorry not great with motor skills that should have read!
