Only put on 3 pounds in 8 weeks

I'm sure I'm worrying for nothing, but I took my 8 week old for jabs the other day and the Health visitor weighed her and she's only put on 2-3 pounds. She said she was a small baby and asked about her feeds. She is mainly breastfed, but also has 2 bottles of formula in the night (4oz per bottle). I have also expressed, and I get about 4/5 oz out of each boob, which seems like enough? She is generally a happy baby and has tonnes of wee's and poo's every day.

HV gave tips on how to increase milk supply and said to keep an eye on her and now I'm worried that I should be giving her more formula in case my milk isn't enough?

A few people had commented that she looks small in pics, so I went back in my photos to see how big my first Daughter was at 8 weeks and she was absolutely huge.

Does 3 pounds in 8 weeks sound about right, or is this an abnormally low amount of weight to put on?

It depends really. Has she dropped centiles or followed the same one?

This is what the smart internet says: The average baby gains about one ounce per day for the first month, and about one or two pounds a month until month six. If she is happy and healthy your BF is enough for her. If hungry she will let you know. Enjoy the cuteness.

Thanks both.

She is on the 43rd centile now, which could be worse? She was 8 pounds at birth, so no idea what that centile is but know it's quite a good birth weight.

She is a very happy baby, doesn't whinge very often, sleeps after a feed, sleeps well at night etc. She just looked quite concerned that she is small and made me question if she was getting enough.

I'll carry on as I have been for the next few weeks and see how she gets on.

Thank you!
