Sitting up

Hi all,

Just want some ideas on how to help my girls sit up. They can do it supported but flop and then end up rolling around the floor again so I leave them but I can't help thinking I'm not offering enough opportunities for them??

Thanks

Babies should crawl before they can sit (crawling to sitting) so unless they crawl I would not worry. Loads of tummy time or tummy to back and vice versa (offering toys and things to reach for) will strengthen their core muscles and help out.

Not sure how old they are, but the usual time for them to sit up by themselves is between 6 and 9m.

As long as they have plenty of opportunities to move around they will all learn to sit just fine.

Thankyou, yes they roll all over the place and lift their heads and tummies so it won't be long till they are crawling I don't think. They are nearly 8m but born prem and although I worry the professionals said there is nothing wrong with the pair of them but it's just the twin worry I think xxx

Twin moms are my secret heroes (how on earth do you survive with two babies needing all the care all the time, it's beyond me!). Kudos.

I am sure they will start to crawl around and you'll look at this post and wish you never asked as now you will need about 100 more eyes to keep two crawling babies in sight :-D Good Luck!

Haha Thankyou. I'm told I make twins look easy, I don't feel they are easy at times. I do like to watch people struggle holding both of them at the same time (I'm so cruel haha) as to me it's just normal to. The crawling is the bit I like but don't. They are starting to get into everything at the moment anyway. One of them is obsessed with my son though (he's nearly 3) so all I can see is her following him constantly. He's going to hate it 🙈🙈🙈
