My son is spending all his money for games

Hello,
I am so worried about my 14 years old son. He is obsessed with video games and found somehow people to help him with passing the levels. Now he is spending all the money we give him for that.
Does anyone have some experience with this site - boosting-ground.com or have had a similar situation? Is it dangerous? My hb thinks it's not a big deal but I think he should value the money more. Any advices?

Don't give him money unless it is for something specific like seeing a movie with friends.

14 is old enough to start working. If he gets a job (after the covid stuff) and is willing to spend his own hard earned money on a video game then he can be allowed to - he will probably stop though if there are other things he wants like new clothes or going out with mates (assuming you continue not to give him any pocket money)

A 14yo should have parental control softwares on all the devices he uses, install them! You can block any purchase or set it to ask your approval first.

Maybe I didn't understood but paying for "helps" or to make something you cannot do by yourself (for a lack of willpower) is totally non educational. What is next, paying someone for his schoolwork?

...and of course, with the parental control set the maximum screen time to 2 hours a day, even better one hour, it will stop screen addiction quickly.

I have a son a similar age who loves computer games too. However he wouldn't pay someone to boost his levels. Isn't the point of playing a lot that you boost the character yourself?

About a year ago we heard of people selling Fortnite wins on eBay and he thought that the going rate was insane and if the game was so hard that you'd never won then maybe find a new game where you can win.
