yes, all babies.

the first few months are nothing short of torture.
then, things settle, they gain weight, amuse themselves and start to notice the world.

it really does get better.
have you got any one who can pop baba in pram and go round the block for you while you have a shower or cuppa?

dissle · 18/09/2007 12:35

my darling, if i were there i would gladly do that for you, i know exsactly how you are feeling.

My second dd was the same. So so so clingy and 'feedy' although she didn't actually take much milk iyswim. It does get better at 1yr old now she is so independant and does mostly her own thing. A couple of things that helped me:- a vibrating bouncy chair with a toy bar to put her into whilst i was doing other stuff with her sister (just 13 months between them). as long as she was vibrated, entertained and couls see me she was fine. No 2 (sounds a weird one, but it worked) I bought her a really soft velvety type sleep suit (cheap) I slept with it/had it down my top etc for a few days then put her to sleep in it for a night then (without washing it - no puke withstanding!) I chopped it up sewed it into several little squares and put her to bed with it as a comforter!!

Yes they are I'm afraid. They becoem more interested in the world at around 4 months and start to roll, sit and even play of sorts. Until then they largely sleep, eat , pooh and cry with short periods of "play" under a gym. Can you take him out in the pram or sling to get him ot nod off and give yourself a bit of a break ? Join a postnatal exercise class with a creche or a mum and baby group ? Will your dh/dp take over later on to let you have a bath, early night etc this evening.

dd was similar btw and then suddenly slept longer. Do you drive , can you take him out ?

andiem · 18/09/2007 12:55

those early weeks can seem like some sort of torture I would just go out and get yourself a nice coffee and a large piece of cake .I am going to buggyfit which is great as I meet other mums and my lo sleeps through the whole thing and I am doing soemthing for me
