I try and fit as much as I can but it definitely doesn’t mount up to 3 hours ...

It's really hard during lockdown isn't it. I'm pretty sure we don't manage it that often but DD has done some Just Dance today.

My daughter is nearly 3. Most days we do:

  • 1 hour+ riding her balance bike and walking (whatever the weather)
  • If weather is nice - playing in the garden for a couple of hours. Usually a bit of playing with her sand and water table, some dancing, jumping, play-acting, etc. We made her a balance beam with some spare bits of wooden flooring.
  • If indoors - make an obstacle course/life raft from the sofa cushions, leap around on that.
  • Other active games - hide and seek, 'see the sleepy bunnies' (although she prefers kangaroos), 'making a bed' (this involves her piling up everything she can find in the middle of the room and usually keeps her running around for a good 30 mins).
  • Dancing - random music on Spotify and run/twirl around the room.

But most of this requires quite a lot of supervision and input from us, so not ideal if you are trying to work at the same time!

Just one more thought - yesterday on our walk we pretended to be superheroes on the lookout for bad guys - she ran full pelt the whole time, and easily got an hour of running around. Might help if your LO is a bit reluctant to go for a walk for the sake of it.
