Is the physio right?

My little one - 6months was referred to physio by the HV however they have picked up LO has slight weakness in his right arm due to a rough labor!

She saying that at 6 months he should be:
Rolling back and forth
Sitting up unaided
Pushing up on his arm on tummy time
Pushing his legs when trying to stand

He does sit up but not without support,

he’ll roll one way with a little help from me but can’t roll back in his own

He isn’t pushing up his arms ( we expect that due to the trauma)

And he doesn’t like to be stood up

Am I being totally paranoid that he’s not doing these or should i be worried there’s something wrong?

I dont think all babies will do all those by 6 months tbh.

I think she's wrong to have used the word "should" that's only ever going to cause worry.

"Could" be doing those things would have been more appropriate.

Our 5 month old isn't sitting up without support.
Is only rolling one way.
However he's perfectly happy and engaging.

I personally wouldn't worry, keep an eye on the arm.

Consider seeing a chiropractor specialising in pediatrics. I'm biased as my other half is one and I've said this on a number of threads.
A traumatic birth can set a path to problems as babies grow. Nothing to be worried about but there are possibly other things caused by the birth that aren't as obvious as the arm.
A good chiropractor can find and correct them.

Congratulations as well 🙂

Thank you! I will continue to do his exercises as he is quite happy to do so as it part of play time, being a first time mum is the best and most terrifying time to experience!
