Throwing food out of mouth

Hi all. Looking for some help. I have a 20 month old (18 months corrected) who loves his food, will eat almost anything, has a good appetite etc. But he takes chewed food out of his mouth and throws it and it's driving me loopy. He sometimes does it when he sees his drink or something else he wants to eat instead, and sometimes for no apparent reason. Any ideas why this could be? He eats by himself either in a high chair or at a little table and chairs. He goes to nursery so is on nursery times for food (ie 11.30 for lunch and 3.30 for dinner) which is why we can't/don't eat with him. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

He just hasn't learnt table manners yet, that's all. If he sees something better or is just fed up with the current mouthful he just takes it out! He doesn't have the social decency to swallow it anyway or spit into a hanky. He'll grow out of it. Just tell him 'no' when he does it.

I assumed this was the case, I say no and say "we don't throw food in the floor". He's very cheeky though and he response to the word "no" is a raised eyebrow, a smirk or a cheeky grin Confused Will keep going and hope he grows out of it! Thank you.
