Weaning dummy from 1yo

Hey everyone.
We decided now that our DS is one, to wean him from the dummy. Just wondering if anyone did the same around this age and how long it took for them to "forget" it? Everything I read seems to be about 2-3 year olds and not sure if the same applies. Obviously its much worse for him but I wasn't prepared for how difficult Id find it too. I really don't want to break and give it back, now that we are on day two but it is heartbreaking him crying and asking for it at sleep times. Would really appreciate anyone elses experiences/support.
Thank you

No advice sorry, my little sods would never take a dummy no matter how much I tried.

Hopefully this will bump for you though Smile

Mine were around 3 when we "lost" the dummy. Dc1 we "lost" the last dummy we had, cried for 1 bedtime never asked again. Dc2 gave his up himself wasnt that bothered about it. Dc3 loved the dummy he posted it himself to Santa in the post box asked about it a day or 2 and was over it.
That can mean 2 things either they had it longer than they needed too or they was old enough to understand it was gone and not coming back.
What's made you decide to lose the dummy now?

@JiltedJohnsJulie Thank you Star

@uhoh2020 Thank you for replying. It seemed a lot better last night/this morning, hopefully it continues..

Lots of reasons why we want to do it really, I felt he was starting to want them more and more, getting a bit obsessive. The main thing that set my mind was how much he was chatting away with the dummy in, then if id take it to hear him he would cry Sad
