Hi, I'm just after some advice as to whether the following is to be expected. This is baby number 2 for me, but I honestly can't remember how things were with my son. 🙈

My daughter is now 7 weeks old, but born at 36 weeks, so I guess that makes her 3 weeks?

Currently, her days consist of eating (BF), sleeping and crying. We get about 5 minutes total where she will be awake and not crying. If she does cry, the only thing that ultimately consoles her is going on the boob, where she will eventually fall asleep, but we are not able to put her down; not in a bouncy chair, playmat, Moses basket, nothing.

I guess I'm just asking if this is to be expected at her age? Like I said, I can't remember how my son was.
She doesn't appear to be uncomfortable, so I don't think it's tummy issues or anything, I think she just wants to be eating or held.

I just thought by now she'd be a bit more interested in her surroundings and more content to just 'be' for a while.

In addition to my being concerned about her development, I have a toddler and this makes getting things done very hard. I do baby wear, but she is in boots and bars for talipes, so it's tricky to do for long periods of time. I'd also like the opportunity to sit next to my husband of an evening, and feel 'hands free' for a bit 🙈

Couldn't find a more appropriate topic for this to go under; so apologies, if it's in the wrong place!

Have you had her checked for silent reflux? DS was like this for 10 weeks. One day it got bad and I googled the signs. By this point we were on lockdown but when I called gp he confirmed and gave us gaviscone. No issues since he'll go down on his playmat for ages now several times a day and kick and swing at the toys. Hope you find the cause soon. X

Consider speaking to a chiropractor specialising in pediatrics.
