Hi have posted in here a few times my son is 10 months doesnt sit unaided, doesnt roll, he doesnt focus on any objects or anyone, he doesnt reach for toys or pass toys from hand to hand, he is very limp all over, he randomly laughs at nothing then is very serious all of a sudden. However he does respond smiling and laughing at sound. He has been referred for eye test, brain mri and genetic testing. Speech therapist done a video call and wanted to get a chair put in place for him. Chair arrived today it's the r82 xpanda stage 1. The ot and someone else is going to come on Tuesday and adjust it for him. I feel very overwhelmed as I was expecting a smaller chair. I'm not sure what is causing the problems with my son but having this chair that seems so medical has overwhelmed. Has anyone got this chair for their little one and what was your plan for it? This is a photo of the chair. Thank you

So sorry you are feeling overwhelmed. It does look fairly big but I'm sure it will help. How are you getting on with it?

I can imagine. It sounds like you've had a lot to take in, in a very short space of time Thanks

My boy has had one of these chairs in the past. They're fab and can be adjusted precisely to fit him and can also tilt backwards if he needs a more reclined position. It's also got a headrest on it so he has support for his head.

The idea is the chair supports him so he doesnt have to use all his energy just to sit up. He can then concentrate on playing and developing if he is supported properly. You can also get a play tray for the chair so he has a surface you can put toys on to encourage him to reach/something to put his dinner on. You can also get the seat put on a pushchair base if he needs the seat out and about.
My boy is 6 and a half. He doesnt have this chair anymore but has something that looks like an overgrown tripp trapp wooden highchair instead. He uses it at the table so he is sat up properly and can them concentrate on wearing eating his dinner.

Forgot to add that depending on the base it is on it the seat can go low so he can play at the same height as his siblings or it can be raised so he is at the same height as everyone else at the table. And the cushion covers are machine washable on a 30 degree wash
